Winter Solstice Wellness

Winter is a great time to nourish your kidneys and bladder. The kidney is associated with the ear and is responsible for hearing. Cleanse your ears and concentrate on active listening. Ask yourself if there is anything in your life that you have not been willing to hear. Be open to the truth even if it is uncomfortable.

Excessive fear drains the kidney. A great way to nourish the kidneys is through the following affirmation: Divine right action is always taking place in my life. I release the old and welcome the new. Only good comes from each experience. All is well.
Also, the following foods serve to tonify the kidney: carrots, celery, green beans, black beans, raspberries, sesame seeds, spinach, and walnuts.
Parsley and Uva Ursi are two herbs that greatly nourish the kidneys.
To make a Parsley tea, place 2 cups of water and 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley into a pot with the lid on. Heat the water to almost boiling, and then turn off the heat. Let it sit for fifteen minutes, then strain the parsley out and enjoy the tea.

Winter Solstice Wisdom

Water is the element of this season. Water, 'the most maternal,' brings comfort and a sense of purity to us all. This time of water is a time for inner and outer practices that promote the natural cleansing processes of the body. Sweats, saunas, meditations about gentle steam cleansing your spirit, and many other activities can help you cleanse your mind, body, and soul with the element of water. Water also brings fertility back to the creative centers of our beings by clearing debris and quieting the mind.
The winter season has a gathering energy. At this time we can go inside and dwell within our own innerlight. This inner guidance will provide us with the wisdom to discern what aspects of our lives must be left to the past and which ones require more energy and time. Whatever we gather in this season will manifest in the spring. This season is the birthing place for next year’s successes. Let this fertile time represent creation of how you want to live your life. This is the creation season; let us be mindful of our thoughts, words, and actions.

Transformation Dormancy Subconscious Fertilization Purification Reflection Renewal

Let the great darkness envelope you and embrace the changes being set forth within you and around you. Use this universal gathering energy to your benefit and gather in the spiritual, mental, and physical realm what you will need to accomplish the goals of your soul in the spring.

Healing Waters

Distillation
Distillation is another wash of the parts of the personality that no longer work with the new self that has been uncovered. Human beings grow attached to the material world along with their thoughts, beliefs and opinions.  This stage of the work calls us to release attachment to everything and feel detachment as a true form of love.  This form of love is from a higher level and not a form that is usually practiced until we have let go of our attachments to end results or the future.  Distillation helps wash away the dark matter of attachment and reveal the deeper intuitive self in its purest form-- light and Oneness.

Healing waters wash over us. Healing waters heal us and make us new. Healing waters flow free. The inner process of Distillation is also renewal. It is the light at the end of the fermentation process. We can rise above the rise and fall of emotional waters. There is a space that exists above and outside of the regular events of daily life. A zen state of being where peace abounds.
