Winter Solstice Wellness

Winter is a great time to nourish your kidneys and bladder. The kidney is associated with the ear and is responsible for hearing. Cleanse your ears and concentrate on active listening. Ask yourself if there is anything in your life that you have not been willing to hear. Be open to the truth even if it is uncomfortable.

Excessive fear drains the kidney. A great way to nourish the kidneys is through the following affirmation: Divine right action is always taking place in my life. I release the old and welcome the new. Only good comes from each experience. All is well.
Also, the following foods serve to tonify the kidney: carrots, celery, green beans, black beans, raspberries, sesame seeds, spinach, and walnuts.
Parsley and Uva Ursi are two herbs that greatly nourish the kidneys.
To make a Parsley tea, place 2 cups of water and 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley into a pot with the lid on. Heat the water to almost boiling, and then turn off the heat. Let it sit for fifteen minutes, then strain the parsley out and enjoy the tea.
